Some of it (like specific algorithms) he won't be able to commit straight into Blender, however a lot of things he learns (like just being a better coder, working with a team, using CUDA etc) will be of direct benefit to his contributions in Blender. This way he will be learning a lot of new stuff. It's worth remembering that most of their users are *not* Blender users, so what Farsthary commits to Blender makes less difference to their business, than what features are in 3Dcoat.Ħ) Farsthary thrives off learning. and make sure Farsthary can still have access to the resources he needs as he goes. They're happy with that and want to maintain a good relationship with you all.
